About

Winona360 is an independent nonprofit news and information site that operates through a partnership with Winona State University and collaborations with several local organizations. Winona360 unites journalism and education to create an informed and intelligent community.

We provide our community with robust, multimedia journalism produced equally by citizens, students and professionals. It's a single platform where everyone comes together to share the stories that allow for deeper understanding and engagement with the place we call home.

Winona360 is an idea of building real community—the kind that comes from talking to your neighbor, eating at a restaurant, critiquing the local government—by creating a digital space that fosters conversation. The Winona360 website is the water cooler. The cafeteria. The line at the grocery store.

What sets us apart from other media models? The unifying ability for us to share and talk together, to use our individual knowledge to collectively build the strongest, broadest and most honest perspective on every issue. We call it civic media. You can call it whatever you want. All it means is that we aim to tell the full story of our community. And to do it we need you as much as you need us.

We give you the tools to create and share your own stories, your own words and photos. What's a story? Anything. An event posting. A scenic photograph. Your own take on the latest Winhawk basketball game. A recipe. A concert review. A rant on local politics or potholes. It's all up to you. And it takes as little or as long as you have time and interest for.

You are Winona360.
