Saint Mary’s University midfielder Kameron McKeeth and Augsburg’s forward Van Hong go up for a header in the Oct. 27 game at Ochrymowycz Field in Winona, Minn.

The Cardinals fell back early in the first period by a goal from Augsburg's defender Alex Hildebrant with an assist from Matt Bowman.

The Auggies were able keep the ball in Cardinals' territory for most of the first period and made 11 shots on goal with one making it past Saint Mary's University goalie Jon Szafranski.

After a short sideline scuffle before the half, the Cardinals were able to make five shots on goal, but went into the half still down by one.

At the half, Cardinals head coach Chris Dembie said, “I don’t want to see any more chest bumping,” referring to the scuffle that had taken place on the sidelines. Dembie assured the players that there was still a lot of time left in the game to make a comeback.

A slow start to the second half was broken up by header goal from the Auggies' Van Hong with an assist from Peter Osborn at the 76-minute mark.

At the end of regulation, the Cardinals were unable to come back from the two-point deficit, a setback for the Cardinals in the MIAC standings.
