More than 1,000 students will participate in Winona State University Spring 2011 Commencement Friday, May 6, in McCown Gymnasium in Memorial Hall on the Winona campus.

The morning ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and includes the College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts. The afternoon ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and includes the College of Education, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Science and Engineering.

MSUSA is pleased to award Jessica Ann Remhof for her commitment to student leadership at Minnesota State University Moorhead

The Minnesota State University Student Association (MSUSA) and the Jared P. Stene Student Leadership Scholarship Board are pleased to award Jessica Ann Remhof for her commitment to student leadership at Minnesota State University Moorhead.  Jessica has been chosen to receive the $1,000 Spring 2011 award.

Jessica, originally from Inver Grove Heights, MN, is in her second year of the School Psychology Graduate program at MSU Moorhead. Her dream career is to be a School Neuropsychologist.

The Copper Development Association and the Canadian Copper and Brass Development Association awarded 12 projects this honor

The Winona County Historical Society’s Laird Norton Addition has received the North American Copper in Architecture Award for architect, Joan Soranno’s (of Hammel, Green & Abrahamson) use of copper in the design of the addition to the History Center.

Winona, Minnesota is becoming a regional artistic force, in part due to the emergence of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum.

To a stunned audience at a Museum fundraiser on Sunday, April 10 of this year, the Museum unveiled recent additions to the Museum’s collections.  Some of the works unveiled included a dramatic seascape by 19th century’s William Trost Richards, as well as significant works by famous artists Henri Matisse and Georges-Pierre Seurat.
