Jasmine pearl, oolang, black and green tea aromas fill the air as attendees of the Frozen River Film Festival pass by Mandala Tea's leafy stand. Garrett Sorenson, owner of Mandala Tea, poors customers samples of his favorite teas and explains the differences in each individual leaf.
"These leaves just grow big and full of flavor as you infuse them," he said as he poured steaming hot water into a pot full of green tea leaves.
Sorenson travels to China, a trip he will be making in April, to improve his knowledge of various types of teas and methods for drinking. He learns and purchases knew leaves and spends time understanding each leave's benefits. He teaches classes ranging from 2-8 hours for many of his customers to understand and learn to love tea as he does.
He sits behind his stand, drinking a cup the size of a small bowl of his infused green tea and smiles with passion.
"The beauty of this is it's all natural," he said.
