Potter’s Field is a part of the cemetery that was set aside as a place to bury the poor and unknown who had no money or family to pay for a regular burial site. “The Haunting of Potters’ Field” is a musical theater work to be produced by Theatre du Mississippi, in collaboration with The Winona County Historical Society at the Historic Masonic Theater.

Winona is celebrating its recognition as a Minnesota Legacy Destination on July 15-17, with an assortment of activities demonstrating the impact of the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment approved by Minnesota voters in 2008. Legacy  weekend is a statewide collaborative project between Minnesota Citizens for the Arts, Conservation Minnesota, Explore Minnesota Tourism and various community partners.

Community workshops are offered for children age 3 through adult
The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts offers summer programming runs through July 22. The Frozen River Film Festival has brought international documentaries and cultural icons to the Winona community and the student body at Winona State University.
