  As the last audience members trickled out, giving final praise to the four actors who walked off stage and rushed around to the exit doors of the Dorothy B. Magnus Black Box theatre to greet the crowd, the muffled sound of hammers and shuffling began emanating from behind the pristine faux apartment walls.

The 10th annual Winona Art Walk highlighted 11 locations and more than 30 regional artists
  It may not have been Christmas themed, but the annual Winona Art Walk put participants in the holiday spirit and the shopping state of mind throughout downtown Winona Saturday, Nov. 20.   This was the first year the art walk took place in November. Traditionally, the art walk occurs the first week of December and was known as the Christmas Art Walk.

The cast of Winona State University's production of "Sylvia" finally put their hard work to the test: It's show time
  It’s just before 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 19 and a single bank of make-up lights remains switched on for any last-minute touchups in the basement of Winona State University’s Performing Arts Center. The rustling of an actor can be heard in the restroom as final costumes are donned and Alex Jung, assistant stage manager for WSU’s production of “Sylvia,” bolts into the room.

The Saint Mary’s University Cardinal women’s basketball team started their season off with a 69 – 60 win over UW-Platteville Tuesday, Nov. 16 at SMU in Winona, Minn. Community members preview films and get excited about the 2011 Frozen River Film Festival
  Films, food and companionship launched the annual Frozen River Film Festival season Nov. 14. The FRFF Committee held a community potluck at the Historic Winona Masonic Temple in Winona, Minn. The event was held for all community members who wished to get a sneak peak at films to be shown at the 2011 Frozen River Film Festival, which will be held Jan. 26-30.
