Sharon-Yasotha Veerayah was laughed at when said she wanted this year’s International Dinner to take place in McCown Gymnasium. “What? Are you going to even get 500 people?” she said, repeating the reactions she received from the facilities personnel. Veerayah, president of the Winona State University International club, had the last laugh Saturday, April 14 when every seat was filled.

This outdoor educational event targets 5th grade students from all over the surrounding area from Pepin Elementary to La Crosse and Houston, Minn., to Black River Falls
On May 17 and 18, Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge will connect over 900 eager fifth graders with nature and provide them an opportunity to gain knowledge about the river, fish, wildlife, birds and many other interesting topics.  This is the eighth year for the annual River Education Days held at the refuge coordinated by both the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  This outdoor educational event...

The Winona State University Marketing Department will present Steve Mireau, a musician and motivational speaker, at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, in the Recital Hall, Performing Arts Center. At 9:30 p.m. Mireau will move his performance to Brewski’s Pub and Grill at the Riverport Inn.

Visit Winona will present its Annual Tourism Award to the Great River Shakespeare Festival on Tuesday, April 19, at the Winona County History Center, 160 Johnson Street.  The event will take place between 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
