Winona shoppers get a lesson in home brewing and how to create tasty beverages themselves
It was a typical Saturday at the Bluff County Co-op. Shoppers gather their groceries for the week and random passersby browse the aisles; the store was full of friendly customers. But on this specific Saturday, the Co-op was a bit fuller than normal. As shoppers carried on with their purchases, a section of the store was blocked off for curious listeners attending a home brewing class presented by an expert brewer.

We will celebrate the joys of adopting children with special needs on Saturday, Oct 30th, 9am, at Lake Lodge on East Lake Winona. Winona State University’s Winona360 Civic Media Project is a recipient of the 2010 WOW award for outstanding innovation in higher education.
The Winona360 project is one of four initiatives in the country being honored with this year’s WCET Outstanding Work (WOW) award. The national competition recognizes innovative uses of educational technologies in higher education to address a challenging issue with a unique solution.

Despite being released 30 years ago, the grindhouse film is simultaneously profound and obscene and deserves recognition as remaining a true horror movie
On October 18, 2010, I sponsored a screening of the film Cannibal Holocaust on the Winona State campus. Banned and censored all over the world, Cannibal Holocaust is one of the most notorious and most fiercely debated films of all time. In the next few paragraphs I’ll explain why I showed this film and why I believe it deserves serious consideration by audiences. As a fourth year political science student, I enjoy staying up-to-date on current political events and issues. Elections and campaigns have always fascinated me, but this time around I found myself being apathetic, as none of the candidates really stood out. Then I found hope in an unlikely place, and became reinvigorated about the direction our government can take.
