Since moving to Minnesota in July of 2008, I made my first trip home to Arkansas this year. While there I revisited my home church. My life was centered around church growing up, and this one holds special meaning because it has been my family’s church for over a hundred years.

I decided that the only way I could really deal with the anniversary of 9/11 was to show a series of films that addressed, if not all, at least a broad spectrum of the issues involved
The week of September 11 - 16th, 2011 I coordinated a 9/11 Film Series on the Winona State University campus to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attack. During the 2010-11 school year I began sponsoring campus film screenings as a way of promoting the show and expanding its mission. No one is making anyone read or buy the now best-selling adult book "Go the F*** to Sleep, but it is nice to know there really is something for everyone
For those uninformed, Go the F*** to Sleep is a story for parents. It’s written by Adam Mansbach in lyrical prose meant to soothe the frazzled nerves of parents, and really, most of all, it is meant to make them laugh. It gets to the heart of what parents might really be thinking and working so hard not to say at the end of a long day spent working and caring for others.

The film documents more than just the preparations for the stage; it exposes cultural differences with philosophical interpretations on how individuals across the globe interact and work creatively
It is with great pleasure that I recently reviewed the film, A Dream In Hanoi. On July 24, at 11 a.m., at the Winona County Historical Society, Frozen River Film Festival and the Great River Shakespeare Festival will partner to bring this film, detailing a unique collaborative production of Midsummer Night’s Dream, to Winona.
