The historic Pickwick Mill membership has been restoring this old stone mill with water wheel built in 1858 on the banks of the Big Trout creek. One of the few upper midwest mills to still be standing, it is a treasure in this area. When a recking ball was in it's future after the flood of 1980, caring people banded together to form a nonprofit membership to buy and restore the lake and it's site and all that was included. A celebration of the 50th anniversary of the United States Peace Corps will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in the Science Laboratory Center Auditorium at Winona State University.
Returned Peace Corps volunteers will share their experiences and Professor Bruno Borsari will speak about food security. A free-will donation will be taken for the Wapasha Community Gardens of Winona.
The event is free and open to the public.

The WSU Ambassadors will host Pals Weekend 2011 Sunday, Feb. 27,-Monday, Feb. 28. Pals Weekend is an overnight program for newly admitted students to meet current WSU students, stay overnight in the residence halls, eat in the dining facilities and experience first-hand what classes are like WSU. Pals and their hosts will participate in academic and social activities from 2 p.m. Sunday- 2 p.m. Monday.
