Winona State University is about to get scarier.
Strobing lights poor out of a 60x30 tent in the middle of the WSU campus courtyard as WSU’s Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity prepares for the debut of its haunted house fundraiser.
The haunted house is scheduled from 7-11p.m. Friday on the WSU campus with a $5 entry fee. The majority of the proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s Hospital.

It’s not everyday bluegrass music and college football come together.
Every typical college football game has a tailgate, but this year Winona State University and the Mid West Music Fest Club took it to a new level by bringing in local bluegrass band Beet Root Stew to play for enthusiastic tailgaters.
Pre-game partiers tapped their feet and bobbed their heads as they grilled hotdogs and listened to Beet Root Stew’s performance.

Morning begins as sunlight pokes through tree branches and people rush into their daily routines, past well-trimmed lawns and tidy trash receptacles to their residence hall home, classroom, or office with the piece of mind that this day will be like any other on the Winona State University campus. What often goes unnoticed is the team of people that maintain this home away from home.

Sharon-Yasotha Veerayah was laughed at when said she wanted this year’s International Dinner to take place in McCown Gymnasium.
“What? Are you going to even get 500 people?” she said, repeating the reactions she received from the facilities personnel.
Veerayah, president of the Winona State University International club, had the last laugh Saturday, April 14 when every seat was filled.

Students are now turning to RateMyProfessors.com, a national online warehouse of students’ reviews on professors, to determine their upcoming schedules.
Sam Zimmerman, a junior at Winona State University, said that she references the site before talking to other students.
