The Winona State University department of music will present its annual gala concert series April 15-17.  The guest composer for 2011 is native Minnesotan, Daniel Kallman.

“You have to have about a 30-40 percent utilization rate based on a 24-hour day for the cars to pay for themselves,” said Lohide. “We’ve never hit that.”
The Winona State University car rental program offered to students, faculty and staff may not be available next fall. Kurt Lohide, vice president for finance and administrative services at WSU, said the Zipcar program on campus is struggling with the amount of student use required for the program to be sustainable--an average of 8 to 10 hours a day.

Winona State University will hold a Winona Area Alumni and Friends Social from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Winona County Historical Society, 160 Johnson St. Attendees will have the opportunity to socialize with fellow WSU Alumni and tour exhibits. Winona State University will host “The Meaning of Science for Gay and Lesbian People” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the Student Activity Center, Kryzsko Commons. Author Tim Murphy will share his most recent work, which reviews key biological studies of sexual orientation and looks at their significance in debates about the moral standing of gay and lesbian people in society today.
