The Frozen River Film Festival has brought international documentaries and cultural icons to the Winona community and the student body at Winona State University. On June 14, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the festival and it's coordinators will be presented with an award that identifies organizations that have gone out of their way to enhance the campus life of universities and colleges in their area.

WSU students get published on the website of the Cloud Appreciation Society which takes an aesthetic approach to meteorology

Rebecca Lesser hosted a raw foods workshop at the Frozen River Film Festival, demonstrating how people can implement raw foods into an everyday diet using common kitchen tools like a food processor, grinder, juicer and blender
Two years ago, Rebecca Lesser discovered she had an ulcer.
That news led the 27-year-old to take her health into her own hands and turn to her food processor. She found, she said, that her problem was primarily the foods she’d been ingesting, a discovery that birthed her research into raw foods.

Frozen River Film Festival Director Crystal Hegge utilizes her passion for film creation by heading a festival celebrating those works of art
Today, Crystal Hegge will finally get a chance to rest.
“I’m going to sleep and hang out with my kids (today),” said Hegge, 30, who has a 3-year-old daughter and 20-month-old son. “If they even recognize me.”

Whether learning about the history of local conservationists, taking in an acoustic performance or chatting with the "Bag-It" monster, Fringe Friday brought community members to downtown Winona for day-long activities
"How many bags do you think made up the 'Bag-It' monster?" asked Lezlea Dahlke, children's librarian at the Winona Public Library, to a group of wide-eyed children.
